Who we are

The Association of Former International Civil Servants – Netherlands, using website address https://afics.nl is responsible for the processing of personal data as shown in this privacy statement, and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation.


What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Cookies

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

We keep track of how many people visit this website, which pages they visit, and if they came from another website. No external services are used for our site analytics and no information will be shared with third-party companies. We do not set cookies for our site analytics and nothing is recorded that can lead back to the visitor. If you have the “Do Not Track” option enabled in your browser, we will not track your visit at all.


Who we share your data with

We use Blogvault to help protect the website and the user accounts of our members. In order to do that, Blogvault’s systems will log the IP of the visitors, country of origin & the page they try to access. This is a part of their firewall & login protection feature & the data they collect is flushed out of their systems after 7 days.

How long we retain your data

For users that have login information for our website (if any), we store some personal information in their user profile: name and email address. All users with login information can request to see or edit their personal information, or request to have it deleted at any time. Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

AFICS retains your personal data for as long as you are a member of AFICS and want access to the restricted part of the website.


What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

To ensure that the request to see, edit or delete your information has been made by you, we ask that you enclose a copy of your proof of identity with the request. On this copy black out your passport photo, MRZ (machine readable zone, the strip with numbers at the bottom of the passport), passport number and Burgerservicenummer (BSN). This is to protect your privacy. We will respond to your request as soon as possible, but within four weeks.

AFICS would also like to draw your attention to the fact that you have the possibility to file a complaint with the national supervisory authority, the Personal Data Authority.

AFICS does not use website visitor data, regardless of whether a visitor is a member or not, for profiling or automated decision making.
