Welcome

Welcome to the website of the Association of Former International Civil Servants – Netherlands (AFICS NL). This association was created in 2006 and currently counts more than 200 members. AFICS-NL is a member of the Federation of Associations of Former International Civil Servants (FAFICS), which was founded in 1975.

Membership is open to retirees from the UN system and the Bretton Woods Institutions (World Bank and International Monetary Fund) who reside or intend to reside in the Netherlands or who live elsewhere and maintain a personal relationship with the Netherlands. It is also open to staff considering or preparing for retirement in the Netherlands.

You will find some general information on AFICS-NL on the page About us, including on services provided by the association to its members.

Guidance as to how to become a member is provided on the page Contact us. The page Links directs you to some relevant websites of the United Nations, the Government of the Netherlands and some non-governmental organizations.

Members can log into the protected pages with a password that can be obtained from the secretariat upon request. These pages (mostly in Dutch) contain the articles of association, important advisory notes, additional links to relevant websites as well as newsletters, annual reports and minutes from meetings.
